Michael Danzansky, Chief Visionary Officer
As the founder of The World Benefits, Michael dreams of a sustainable world where all beings are smile all the time and live in peace. Well, not dreams like every night in his sleep, but more the aspirational type dreams. But he is not just a dreamer - Michael also knows his traditional benefits inside and out.    He has more than 17 years of experience in the financial service and benefit industry and a slew of top industry designations, including Certified Financial Planner, Chartered Life Underwriter, and Registered Health Underwriter.

Seeking a way to integrate a sense of well being in his work life, Michael decided to pursue a Master's degree in Philosophy, Cosmology, and Consciousness from the California Institute for Integral Studies. It was from his time at CIIS that the concept for The World Benefits started to unfold.

Never content to live life only making money to pay the rent, Michael has served on numerous non-profit boards, including Greater DC Cares, The National Capital Food Bank, and The Signature Theater in Arlington, VA. Michael also has received the Distinguished Leadership Award from the Montgomery County division of the American Heart Association, and was also founder and President of Washington Aware, a non-profit organization dedicated to helping underprivileged children in the DC Metro Area. 

Michael is passionate about travel -- he loves the feeling of being The Only Westerner in Town in a remote region of the world. His life took a wonderful shift when he met his wife Cate.  Today, they are proud parents to Bodhi, born in August 2008.  Michael is committed to working toward a society that considers our future generations in its actions today. 

Siobhan Canty, Chief Social Responsibility Officer
Siobhan Canty is TWB's social entrepreneur tour-de-force.  She formerly served as President & CEO of Greater DC Cares, the largest coordinator of volunteering and corporate philanthropy in the Washington, DC area. Leading the development of programs that facilitated hands-on volunteering, pro bono consulting, and placement of corporate executives on nonprofit boards, Greater DC Cares invested over $5 million in assets in Washington area nonprofits each year. In 2006, the organization was awarded the National Innovation Award by the Points of Light Foundation. 

Prior to Greater DC Cares, Siobhan was Director of Development at the Center for Policy Alternatives, Program Director at the Community Foundation for the National Capital Region and a community organizer within the Salvadoran immigrant community in Washington, DC. She has served on the boards of the National Nonprofit Congress, The Nonprofit Roundtable of Greater Washington, Leadership Washington, Greater Washington Board of Trade's Potomac Conference, the DC Commission on National and Community Service, and DC Central Kitchen. 

Siobhan is also an accomplished singer, a sea kayaker and avid scuba diver, regularly volunteers on nonprofit development projects, and contributes to the environmental movement by not owning a car. 

Jenny Veach Harding, Operations Manager and People Person
Jenny Harding contributes infectious energy to TWB – and her expertise in Human Resource management.  She is a PHR-Certified Human Resources Consultant, often working with organizations that are too small to have a full HR department. She has more than 11 years of exempt-level HR experience including a 4-year tenure with Blackboard Incorporated, the largest technology company in the District of Columbia, where she assisted in the first of her two IPOs.  

Jenny has experience in all disciplines of Human Resources, from Recruiting and Benefits Management to Management Training and Employee Relations.  She has assisted in major acquisitions as well as office closures and reductions in force.  Jenny has also worked to establish global presence and managed the International Human Resources function.   Jenny is drawn to The World Benefits because she wants to contribute to a larger endeavor to realistically make the world a better place for her children and her children's children and their children's children… 

Zach Laurie, Environmental Sustainability Guru
Zach brings to TWB his loving attitude toward the earth, and his ability to make environmental sustainability approachable.  His expertise in environmental work stems from his experience at Saatchi & Saatchi S, where he designed custom programs to engage the corporate world on issues of sustainability.

Zach's commitment to empowering our world was fostered through his service as a Peace Corps volunteer.  He worked in Guatemala for two years doing Environmental Education, training teachers and the Guatemalan Department of Education to include lesson plans on natural resources within the national curriculum. Zach also stayed an extra year in Guatemala to work as a consultant with the IUCN (World Conservation Union), where he helped design a 3 million dollar a year project of sustainable development that empowered indigenous peoples to manage and sustain local resources.

Zach is currently working on practicing what he preaches by living partly off the grid with locally generated power, reusing materials, and growing some of his own food.
